Financing

LCBC is almost entirely based on external funding. Primary funding sources have been the European Research Council (two StG and two CoG), Horizon (coordinated a ϵ10.7 mill EU project) and the Norwegian Research Council, with additional funding from the National Health Association, Thon foundation, Health South-East, the Ministry of education and the UiO:Lifescience initiative. While Walhovd and Fjell are responsible for largest parts of the funding, other researchers have over the last years obtained large and competitive grants from NFR and other grant agencies (Yunpeng Wang, Håkon Grydeland, Didac Vidal-Piñeiro).

Primary funding sources have been: The Research Council of Norway, ERC, EU Horizon 2020 programme, UiO LifeScience Convergence Environment, UiO World leading research environment, Simons Foundation and, The National Association for Public Health.
